Richard A. Bator, age 75, a longtime resident of Hudson, New Hampshire, passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 11, 2019, at the Community Hospice House in Merrimack. He was the beloved husband of Patricia A. (McAweeney) Bator, with whom he shared 30 years of marriage.
Born in Springfield, Massachusetts, on June 23, 1943, he was the son of the late Alphonse J. and Anna (Boska) Bator.
Richard had a brilliant mind. He was a mathematics graduate of Massachusetts Institute for Technology (MIT) and earned a master’s degree from Northeastern University. Prior to his retirement, he worked as a computer engineer for Digital and Compaq, as well as an independent consultant for various firms. Early on, Dick enjoyed playing the saxophone. He was a master bridge player and traveled extensively to many tournaments over the years. He was a kind and loving man who was happiest entertaining family and close friends. He especially enjoyed watching the Red Sox, Patriots, and Celtics play on television. He was also an avid fan of Jeopardy and enjoyed playing along with the contestants. Most recently, his greatest joy was spending time with his great-grandson, who certainly kept him on his toes!
