George V. Kinal ’65

May 5, 1943 – July 21, 2017

George Vladimir Kinal, aged 74 of Washington, DC, passed away
peacefully, surrounded by his family on Friday, July 21, 2017, from
complications due to a stroke.

George held an undergraduate degree in electrical engineering from
MIT (1965), a masters in electrical engineering from Stanford (1967),
and a masters in computer sciences from Georgetown (1978). He was
the president of Phi Kappa Sigma and remained a lifelong supporting
member. He had a distinguished career as an aerospace and satellite
communications engineer at COMSAT, INMARSAT (London, England),
and MITRE.

He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Chrystyna, and his children,
Juliana Ballard (John) and Julian Kinal (Therese), and his grandchildren,
Justine and Jackson Ballard.
